NLP and Life Coaching

NLP means Neuro Linguistic Programming. Most famously used by Paul Mckenna.

Dr Richard Bandler invented the term "Neuro-Linguistic Programming" in the 1970s.

NLP is powerful in  helping people to overcome problems and issues in their lives, which may be caused by negative or limiting beliefs or patterns of behaviour.

NLP is based on a number of Suppositions some of which are ;

The person with the greatest flexibility is likely to get the best outcome

Life Coaching

Are you happy with how your life is going?

Sometimes life can seem disappointing and we can feel stuck in a rut but stay where we are because it's familiar. You may believe you could do better but something holds you back. Maybe its a lack of self esteem that is standing in your way. Perhaps you tell yourself you're too old, too young or that it will be too much effort?

There may be reasons as to why you have found it a struggle to succeed so far. These could be a negative mindset, unhelpful beliefs or habits, or problematic behaviours. Maybe you have been living with a phobia or mental health problem. Sound familiar?

What is Life Coaching?

My role is to mentor, inspire, challenge, support and encourage you to seize the day, decide where you want to be, make changes and move towards the vision of the future you want. I will believe in your ability to succeed, even when you don't see your own potential at first. Together we will set goals that are attainable, realistic and achievable.

About Me

I have training in many different approaches, so I have a varied toolkit at your disposal.

Before qualifying, I was a full time parent raising 2 children on the Autistic spectrum as well as supporting a husband with Bipolar Disorder. I learnt a lot from all of them about reframing beliefs and attitudes about what was possible and achievable They constantly impressed me with their resilience and ability to keep going and keep positive. My love of supporting others and encouraging them to grow and transform was created by the inspiration I got from my husband and sons.

As well as having a qualification in Therapeutic Coaching and a Diploma in Life Coaching,  I am a BACP Registered and Accredited Psychotherapist & Counsellor.

I also work for several EAP agencies using short term solution focussed models.

What I need from you

Commitment and a willingness to work on yourself, complete homework and mutually agreed tasks in between sessions. This is your life and unless you put in the effort to make those changes, nothing much will happen. I can provide the tools, but YOU need to use them.

How it works

We will meet normally once a week, at our first session we will explore what it is you want to achieve, banish or acquire, and plan our course of action. Change takes time, so setting realistic, achievable steps towards your goal is usually the most sensible route along the road to success. I will walk alongside you, sharing your experiences, supporting your growth and celebrating your successes with you.
